CIV2:ToTPP

Civilization 2: Test of Time is a turn-based strategy game remake of the best selling game Civilization II. The game was originally released by Microprose on July 31, 1999. Test of Time's central innovation was the addition of multiple maps and an expanded events language, allowing scenario much more scope to craft their own scenarios. Due to legal wrangling and other issues, the release of Test of Time (ToT) was rushed and the product itself had an unfinished feel and was not enthusiastically received by the gaming public who had higher expectations after the success of the original Civ2. This is a real shame as the game does have many great features, especially for modders, such as the communities at Civ Fanatics and Apolyton.

These scenario designers persevered with the game and over the years many wonderful historical, sci-fi and fantasy scenarios have been released. My intention is to make these scenarios more easily accessible for new and returning players by bundling together an example of some of the best scenarios together with a ready to play version of ToT that eliminates the need for complicated installation, a factor that may put off the casual gamer. This bundle will also come complete with the Test of Time Project Patch which I will explain more about below. I have made the decision to classify ToT as abandonware, due to its age, the lack of copyright interest from its original owners and the fact that it has not been commercially available to purchase for well over a decade now.
